Sailing Rhumor Ep8 Sea Survival
In this episode of Sailing Rhumor we travel to Hartlepool to take part in a sea survival course organised by Glenys at Orcel Navigation. We get there early in the morning and start work in the classroom with what to do in different emergencies and what equipment to have onboard. We then moved onto life rafts and life jackets before refreshing the vhf mayday call.
It was then time to head down to Hartlepool marina for a practical launching of the life raft, seeing what is feels like on the water. Then there was just enough time to quickly practise the huddle and the snake to keep warm if we were stranded in the sea. Then a well deserved hot shower and hot chocolate. Great day had by us all.
