Ep47 Caught by the storm. In Port Grimaud.

Ep47 We manage to make it in the Grimaud anchorage just in time to hide from the mistral which passes just to the south of us but still manages to give us wind gusts of over 40kts. We were so glad to be in a well protected anchorage and not in the eye of that storm which had predicted wind speeds of 65kts and a 5 metre swell. Rhumor would probably not have survived that sort of storm.
With us nicely in Grimaud we sit it out and do what we do best sight seeing and boat jobs and when I say boat jobs I mean the worst boat jobs onboard FIXING THE TOILET so many times I was nearly sick the smell alone was awful. The sight seeing bit was great though Grimaud is a bit like a mini Venice with a lot to see and do. we managed to get the washing and food shopping done all in one day which was great and meant we had some time spare, so we got on a ferry down to St Tropez. We were all amazed at the price of things with a name on them. One place that is high on the list if you are in the area is the museum in the castle Citadelle at the top of the hill. we were here for at least 3 hours walking the grounds and viewing the museum, then it was back to the ferry and then back to the boat for a well earned rest. The plan had been to leave for Cannes from Grimaud but the weather had taken a little twist and this meant that we needed protection from the east which Grimaud doesn’t give so we set of down to a bay just east of St Tropez which has the protection we need.
Thanks for watching from the crew of Rhumor.
