Ep 17 To Poole takes us out of Portsmouth on a cold and wet morning passing the Isle of White. close to the needles at the west end of the island. The wind is on the nose for the whole trip which makes for a bit of a bumpy ride. We are soon in the channel that leads past the chain ferry round the east side of Brownsey Island and into a small channel that leads to our mooring buoy, it was well protected from the wind.
During our stay we head over to Brownsey Island, which is well worth doing if you are into walking and nature. It has a bit of history in the form of being host to the first scout group and also had a pottery factory. There is a lot to see so get there early, using the ferry.
We then go further a field by renting a car and heading North to Stonehenge, which was another full day. to the girls disappointment we hand the car back the following day and get the boat ready for the trip to Dartmouth.
Thanks for watching.
