Baby Steps to the mast – Part 1 – S02 E30 – DIY Catamaran

In this episode Axel starts building Wilda’s the steps to the mast!
We started with building the smaller 4 steps first, 2 for each side of the boat, to help us reach the salon roof.
They are made of small pieces of laminated foam glued together with epoxy. For the medium step, that goes in front of the mast , under the larger step, we decided to fill the sides with the thicker foam to help us give it a nice shape.

Wilda is a Schionning Wilderness 1340 sailing catamaran. She is being finished in a shed outside Melbourne. Wilda will be powered by the Sun, the Wind and the Sea…

This youtube channel is our way of sharing this project with friends, family and those interested in our adventure of building her and getting her into the water!
