We’re just a bunch of young salty scallywag sailors, doing our best to sail on a budget.
We’ve had a morning full of activities, skurfing, and dune sliding at Fraser Island. With the Hamilton race week cancelled, we figured we’d have our own yacht race to the top of Fraser Island. Obviously, Nakama wins…we finish off the amazing time we have had with our cruising mates with some sundowners on Pearl, the ONE DOLLAR catamaran @TheMerTheMan We are woken at Bikinis to humpback whales, checking the weather we decide to make the trip to the mainland to hide from some wind that’s on its way and to get some study that we have been ignoring done. It’s a long day of motoring as the predicted wind didn’t show and instead presented us with a glass lake.

Seeking Shelter Between a Rock & a Hard Place (Sailing the Roaring Forties)

We're the tiny boat amidst the battered west coast of Tasmania. Behind this rock is where we’ve found shelter, it takes the edge off the Southern Ocean swell. But, there’s no doubt, it’s remote and exposed. Boat life in the roaring forties is a new a...

Entering the Roaring Forties (Sailing South of 40°)

We’re on a mission to reach a pocket of untamed wilderness in the 40-degree latitudes before winter closes in and the gaps between storms disappear. The west coast of Tasmania is one of the last surviving wildernesses on Earth—1.5 million hectares of n...
