Why does everything keep breaking?! ah that’s right we live on a boat…
We head from Great Keppel Island where we have had a great week cooking on the fire at Svensons Beach, towards the motherland into the marina, we need a new tender as our good ol’ trusty just broke on us AGAIN. We also have copious amounts of washing, haven’t showered in a month, have no food left and we are installing an internet booster! We have quite some work ahead of us at the Keppel Bay Marina.

Welcome aboard SV Nakama, We are Slim & Soph a young Aussie couple tryna get by living aboard our tiny retro sailboat with our cat Chilli. We sail the Australian coastline whilst attending university online and take you with us. After putting study on the back burner for years as we didn’t want to sacrifice adventure, we thought why not have both? Fed up with the outrageous rental prices in our hometown, the idea of doing it afloat came to mind. We figured we could scrape by on our tight student budget if we stopped paying way too much rent and lived minimally on the ocean, whilst continuing our passion for adventure. The plan for now, is to keep sailing onwards, keeping Australia to our left and once we're done doing that...Who knows. Our mission is to prove that anyone can do it, you don’t need the fanciest boat or a squillion bucks, just a whole lot of ambition and a willingness to make mistakes and learn.
