In this episode of Sailing Nandji, the question is asked. Why is it so hard to turn around? We attempt to sail 80nm to Noro without a weather forecast. We are hit by squall after squall and despite all of our attempts to make ground, fail to do so. We eventually make it to Noro sailing upwind into the night, through the unpredictable seas of “the Slot”. We stock up on food and set sail once more, heading for Gizo where we will prepare to leave the Solomon Islands bound for Papua New Guinea.
Thankyou to everyone who contributed to Nandji’s new windlass in the SAVE YOSH”S BACK campaign. We have reached our target and are working on the logistics of purchasing one and having it delivered to a future port down the track! Yew!
We are a young couple with a dog, who with no sailing experience, bought a yacht, got it blue water cruising ready and set off sailing around the Pacific! 5000nm down and many more to go!
