In this episode of Sailing Nandji, we complete the last leg of our passage from Jayapura to Sorong, Indonesia. After making our offering to Neptune, we were quickly beaten back into the Southern latitudes by a strong squall. The final 150nm of passage we were greeted with fisherman and the Navy… Arriving to Sorong with a few things broken it was a bitter sweet arrival as we had some very important items break on passage but we had arrived in time to collect a new toy for Nandji!
We are a young couple with a dog, who with no sailing experience, bought a yacht, got it blue water cruising ready and set off sailing around the Pacific! We just arrived to Indonesia after cruising the Pacific islands. We departed Australia 12 months ago and have since explored some amazing countries, met some amazing people and experienced cultures, dived pristine reefs, surfed solo in the middle of no where, spent weeks at sea, dealt with storms, big waves, strong winds and had the time of our life doing it! The adventure is just beginning as we sail West with the trades!
