We tried to overland Africa in a Landcover defender. Can’t say we are not adventurous but Turns out sailors should probably stick to knowing what they know best. Sailing.
Although, to be fair, things didn’t exactly get easier when we made it back to the boat.
After everything we had been through on the road, returning to Nandji only to discover that she wasn’t to be outdone.

Fast forward a couple of months… over 5,000 miles sailed and a few island stops along the way. We find ourselves on the other side of the Atlantic and an Ocean crossing nearly all but done.
We are on a completely different continent and when you stop for a second and actually think about that… its been quite the run of events. Not that long ago, we were sitting on the side of a dirt road in the middle of the Namibian desert with a broken-down Land Rover,
no idea how we were going to get moving again,
Sun setting and being stalked by jackals…
And now?
We’re thousands of miles away, Motoring Nandji 2 up a river deep into the Amazon jungle….
Same family.
Same slightly questionable decision-making.
But most importantly, those experiences taught us a few things.
And Staying connected matters.
