After three days in Cuxhaven we sail to the island Vlieland in The Netherlands. The trip is 150 nautical miles and takes 25 hours. We have a good sail with nice winds and make around 6,5 knots of speed. The weather is cold but sunny. Unfortunately we sail in to some heavy fog in the morning the next day. On Vlieland we discover the island and walk on the empty beaches and in the woods. We fly with our drone and get som nice footage and Johan makes “semlor”, a Swedish pastry.
We are a Swedish couple who wanted a different kind of life. So we moved aboard our sailboat RAN, a custom built Beason 40 in aluminium, untied the lines in the middle of the Swedish winter, January 2016, and started sailing south along the coast of Europe. There is no set route and we will go where the wind and our minds take us.
