The town of St. Pierre in Martinique was once the capital of the island but 1902 a volcanic eruption killed everybody except one guy! We went hiking on the volcano Montagne Pelée and then visited the destroyed city. Beside from some land exploration we also stayed in a couple of very nice anchorages along the west coast of Martinique. And we got our own anchor guard on the ocean floor 🙂
We are a Swedish couple who wanted a different kind of life. So we moved aboard our sailboat RAN, a custom built aluminium Beason 40, and untied the lines in the middle of the Swedish winter and started to sail south along the coast of Europe. There is no set route and we will go where the wind and our minds takes us.
