From an AB all electric center console fiberglass dinghy that weighed about 500lbs to a Highfield aluminum that weighs about 200lbs. Let’s just say our catamaran is breathing a sigh of relief to get that weight off her backside.
It wasn’t an easy decision to get rid of our plush AB dinghy but for around the world cruising something fancy and cush doesn’t really make sense. The last thing we want in a foreign country is to have the nicest dinghy at the dock.
There are a ton of other reasons we swapped from our AB to the new Highfield and we’ve listed those on our website. Overall we’ve been living with our new dinghy for about a month and every time we offload it from the boat and drag it on the beach we’re extremely happy we switched.
