We Almost Sailed Into a WATERSPOUT on Our 18-Hour Passage
In this week’s episode, we set off on an 18-hour overnight crossing back to the mainland that could have ended in disaster. From abandoning our first attempt to sailing through total darkness, our final passage from Corsica to Italy was pretty eventful. But what made everything a little more serious was how close we came to a powerful waterspout forming just behind us! That moment brought back all the news stories we’d read from the Baysian sailing yacht that was struck and sank after being hit by a waterspout last year… and as we watched this one grow on the horizon, we couldn’t look away.
