We start our day in the beautiful Whangamumu harbour, home to New Zealand’s most successful whaling station. After a run and an explore we set our sales for Whangaruru for a fish and chip stop then on to what has to be New Zealand’s jewel in the crown, The Poor Knight Islands marine sanctuary. An amazing pristine island group off the coast of Northland. Well worth a visit if you are ever in the Tutukaka area. You won’t be disappointed.
