We can’t believe they let us inside, we have been let loose inside a sailmakers loft in Airlie beach with the guidance of our good friend and marine trimmer Sue.

It’s no secret Nakama’s canvas work needs some serious love. A boom bag has been on our wish list for years and our poor old dodger is no longer hanging on by a thread but patched up with duct tape sporting more holes than fabric the dodgy dodger is more of a representation of a dodger than an actual dodger.

After a cracking sail, we crack into the work on our first attempt at D.I.Y marine trimming at the local sailmaker’s loft. We are so grateful to have been given the opportunity to work in this space and learn an abundance of knowledge about a whole other side of boating.
