In this one I continue my solo journey south from Juneau to Petersburg, leaving behind the beautiful ice in Tracy Arm to go find a good anchorage to wait out a forecast gale. Before I leave Tracy Arm, I go check out some beached ice bergs and collect ice to fill my cooler.

Squally weather brings me to a nook in Windham Bay a short distance south. I arrive with darkness gathering, and to my surprise, find two other boats anchored in the small remote spot. This made it very difficult to get a good set on my anchor, but after a few tries I am happy enough. With a gale in the forecast, I reset the anchor in a better spot the next day when the other boats leave.

This ended up being one of the few times I spent more than a single night at the same location! The gale never ended up coming, but I enjoyed relaxing in this beautiful spot.

This, and the next couple episodes will feature solo sailing before I pick up new crew in Petersburg!
