On July 30th 2025, one of the largest earthquakes ever recorded sent shockwaves around the world and a tsunami wave rippled out across the Pacific Ocean. Anchored on our sailing catamaran on the island of Samoa, we received the tsunami warning and had to make some quick decisions - should we stay or should we go? How can you prepare for a natural disaster that you know is heading your way when you've never seen one before?
This was not the day we planned, but we wanted to share the whole experience with you so get ready for a nail biting episode of life onboard our sailboat when things start to go wrong and you realise life isn't all sunshine and cocktails!

We're Iain and Brioni [The Reds] a couple of redheaded Scots who sold everything we own and moved halfway round the world to buy a boat that we could call home. We have a habit of finding ourselves in the most unusual circumstances, but that’s what makes life interesting!
