We are removing our old Yanmar engine from our Leopard 47 catamaran so that we can replace it with a brand new Nanni N4.50. We have to get a little bit destructive and cut away parts of our boat to make it fit out the hatch, but we are determined to get this project finished and see this broken engine next to us on the dock!
Back story: After melting one of our engines on our Pacific crossing last year, we've been sailing around French Polynesia without it. Now we're doing a double engine repower on our 20-year-old catamaran and we're doing all the work ourselves, which we're still in the water. Watch this space as we figure out what it takes to become marine mechanics on our very own floating home.
