In this Episode of Sailing Nandji, after a slow 6 day passage at sea, we arrive to the remote Papua New Guinea group of islands called the Hermit Islands. We spend hours diving and exploring what is below the surface and see lots of marine life. Plenty of sharks and we play with some Manta Rays. We catch plenty of fish and help out the local village residents where we can then head back to sea on an overnight passage to the next chain of islands 80nm away. Arriving to the Ninigo Islands, we are greeted by Oscar and his 12m sailing canoe. He invites us for a sail and off we go sailing a little different than normal!!
We are a young couple with a dog, who with no sailing experience, bought a yacht, got it blue water cruising ready and set off sailing around the Pacific! We just arrived to Indonesia after cruising the Pacific islands. We departed Australia 12 months ago and have since explored some amazing countries, dived pristine reefs, surfed solo in the middle of no where, spent weeks at sea, dealt with storms, big waves, strong winds and had the time of our life doing it! The adventure is just beginning as we sail West with the trades!
