In this episode of Sailing Nandji, we depart Bundaberg and sail south, almost non stop to Brisbane. We are sailing to a schedule to catch flights home to visit family. First rule about sailing, do not sail to a schedule! So we broke the first law of sailing straight away! Lucky the weather was on our side as we left thinking our flights were a day earlier then we expected. So it was full sail and full steam ahead.
We cross the notorious Wide Bay Bar, It proved to be quite challenging battling the wind and tide. The sun was setting and we were in the thick of it. With full sail and the waves rolling, Nandji powered through the swell unphased and powered on into the night. Setting her course south towards Brisbane, we sailed through the night and the following day.
