Getting woken up by a crew member saying "you need to get up here quick!" is not a good feeling when you are over 800 miles from land... This could have ended really bad!
We have been locked into a broad reach for days and days on end. Nandji 2 has been relishing the strong winds and constantly changing and building seas, but with a current pushing us south of our destination, we mix up our sails and pole out the head sail using the boom.
The strong winds and rough seas are starting to take a toll onto our sailboat and we need to make repairs at sea. We lose items overboard, the sails are falling apart and we nearly rip the windvane off the back of the boat!!
