Visiting a Turkish Boat Yard, Anchoring in Marmaris Bay and Blue Poo Cards #045

After seeing how Turkish Gullets are made in a Bozburun boat yard (and seeing where Roman Abramovich had his yacht built!) we sail to Marmaris and traverse the bureaucracy of agents, crew lists and the Turkish blue card scheme aka ‘poo cards’. Turkey’s ‘pump out’ scheme is not as easy to follow as we first imagine.. and we break a few rules and we break a few rules – but it doesn’t tarnish the friendliness we encounter in Turkey. After waving good buy to our crew – Pete and Alex, we say hello to a special visitor. After exploring Marmaris Bay’s various anchorages, and few close encounters with day tripper boats (!) we then visit Marmaris Yacht Marina to pick up some rigging and enjoy a few home comforts!
