As Darroch’s IGCSE exams draw closer, our family finds itself split between two very different worlds. Woody is doing his best to cope with life in Langkawi, where even something as simple as defrosting sausages seems to turn into a full-day saga. Between the heat, the island pace, and his ever-creative kitchen experiments, every meal becomes its own adventure.
Meanwhile, we’re in Kuala Lumpur trying to keep a steady routine while revision notes take over the house. Just as the focus finally settles in, the call to prayer echoes through the city yet again—beautiful, but perfectly timed to break concentration at the most dramatic moments.
Although our surroundings couldn’t be more different, the challenges on both sides are equally frustrating in their own ways.
