Sailing from Borneo to Belitung | Exploring a UNESCO Global Geopark & Facing Ocean Storms Ep 232
In this episode, we set sail from Borneo on an incredible passage toward Belitung Island, Indonesia — a place so unique it’s been recognized as a UNESCO Global Geopark. As we approach the coast, we’re greeted by Belitung’s dramatic granite rocks rising from turquoise waters, creating one of the most stunning seascapes we’ve ever seen.
We spend a few magical days exploring the island, wandering between sculpted boulders and white-sand beaches that feel untouched by time. But the calm doesn’t last for long — on our next leg, the weather turns. We find ourselves sailing through sudden tropical squalls, dodging rain and lightning while crossing one of the busiest shipping lanes in the world.
Once safely in Malaysia, we check in and prepare to leave our boat for a while — because our next stop is Singapore! From the tranquility of the sea to the vibrant pulse of the city, we can’t wait to dive into Singapore’s fascinating culture, explore its mix of tradition and modernity, and, of course, sample its incredible food.
