This is a short review and Do-It-Yourself maintenance video on how to service a Honda 2.3HP outboard – one of the lightest and simplest outboards on sale today.
It’s light (only 13.5kg), air cooled (no impeller to change!) and has only one cylinder (only one spark plug to change)! Although other makes of engine in this class are slightly different, the main components are basically the same. Anyone with a reasonable level of technical ability should be able to service an outboard but please check you’re not invalidating any warranties first. And if you’re in any doubt, even after watching this maintenance video, then contact your local dealer or repair shop.
