Although we’ve blogged our journey from the very start, it occurred to us that we’d never made a dedicated video about the process of buying our boat. While we’ve pilfered some footage from earlier blogs to tie the story together there’s a lot of unseen footage from our trans-global boat searches and the hitherto untold story of how our deposit money went missing for 12 long weeks in a suspected wire transfer hacking scam.. something the YBAA told us was a regular occurrence!
So watch this and learn from our mishaps, because buying a second hand boat can be a confusing and costly business. We spent too much on travel, searches and surveys. We made many mistakes but believe we bought the right boat in the end. In this blog we re-visit the process we went through and what we learned from the experience.
In the end we give 12 top tips that – if we’d known during OUR boat search – would have saved us a lot time, money, stress and would have enabled us to start sailing the world a lot sooner!
