029: Sailing from Ibiza to Spain, a Coastal Hop to the Costa Del Sol and Wintering in Almerimar

After the dinghy disaster in Ibiza the kids surprised us with their ability to spring into action and make dinner while we dealt with the problem. A few days later we found the footage of their.. inspired approach.
Leaving Ibiza, we headed for the Spanish mainland, and met up with friends as we coastal hopped our way south. Our trips ashore were made more challenging without a proper dinghy so we had to draft the kids dinghy and paddle-board into action.
We had an awesome final sail into Almerimar where we celebrated with fish n chips, hung up our flip flops and prepared to try Spanish school for the kids and prepare a long boat maintenance list!

We sold our belongings, closed our business and rented our house to buy a 20 year old sailboat . Our dream of cruising and exploring the world's oceans is matched with a desire to live a more off-grid and sustainable lifestyle. A background as RYA instructors, flotilla skippers and RNLI crew only partly prepared us for the challenges of a live-aboard life! From buying a boat to homeschooling the kids, from cooking on a budget to making money while we travel, from sailboat maintenance to visiting amazing places - join our journey and share in our world adventure, as well as the challenges of family life, through our series of video blogs.
