From Island Head Creek we point Synergy north across the Coral Sea for one of the most special stops on the Queensland coast — the Percy Islands. It’s a passage full of surprises: a coral spawn slick stretching to the horizon, humpbacks on the migration, and one whale that surfaces close enough to take our breath away.
At Middle Percy we finally make it ashore to the legendary A-frame — the Percy Island Yacht Club — where decades of sailors have hung hand-made signs from their boats. We add ours, cast our Life on the Mould challenge coin, then catch a northerly and make a fast run south to Pearl Bay with dolphins on the bow.
