We have been hanging out to take Nutshell out for a sail but the weather has not been kind enough. I wouldn’t say that we are fair weather sailors but huge storms hit the coast and we had to delay heading off.

After much fiddling Magnus finally manages to get the impeller out of the Volvo engine using an ingenious technique.

We take Nutshell out and gently float over to Funnel Bay which is a mere two nautical miles around the headland. It’s wonderful to be out again. We did plan on cleaning her bottom but murky waters put us off!

As we return to Airlie Beach we are fortunate enough to be there at exactly the right time, the start of Airlie Beach Race week. There isn’t much wind, but the sight of the yachts heading out of Pioneer Bay is majestic.

Thanks for watching.

We’ll see you all next time.

Until next time…

Wendy and Magnus

Ep 399 | DODGY BEER, REVIEW and the OLDEST city in Holland, European Vacation

We kick off this episode in the middle of a freezing Dutch week with snow on the decks and fog on the canals. Magnus tries another beer and gives a very honest review of a triple that comes with a 900‑year heritage. From stainless steel aromas to coriander syrup surprises, it’s a tasting that doesn’...

Ep 398 | DODGING SHIPS and Our First Belgian Beer Review, European Vacation

Sailing through South Holland turns into a full‑blown game of dodging ships, timing bridge openings, and navigating closures that stop us in our tracks. After threading our way through one of Europe’s busiest river intersections, we finally hit a dead end: a bridge closed indefinitely. So… back we g...

Travel with us as we make our way along the Gota Canal in Sweden.
