I'm Back in My Longevity Laboratory #agingwell #japan #wellness

After a month away, I'm back in my tiny fishing village on Amami Oshima.

Twenty-nine people. This has become my longevity laboratory and a base from which I am exploring one simple question:

What helps people remain healthy, independent, and engaged well beyond the average healthy lifespan?

The answers rarely come from laboratories.

More often, they are found in ordinary people living ordinary lives extraordinarily well.

About me:

I'm Lowell Sheppard, author, Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, Founder of the Never Too Late Academy, and Special Advisor to the International Academic Forum (IAFOR). Through Japan Solo Field Notes, I explore longevity, community, purpose, and healthy aging across Japan.
