We anchored near a forgotten island in the Northern Sporades and discovered an abandoned monastery once inhabited by Byzantine monks… and later, political exiles. What we found inside shocked us — beds still made, shoes untouched, offerings left in silence.
This is not a ruin from 1,000 years ago. This place was last lived in during the 1970s.
As we explored, reflections on Orthodoxy, mysticism, and exile emerged. The deeper we went, the more it felt like stepping into a sacred pocket of time.
