We need to SLOW DOWN | Beau and Brandy Sailing

Since leaving the fast paced land life behind, we knew we needed to slow down or burn out. We have learned so much since being on our sailboat, but we are still learning to slow down after all this time. We get a lesson in that after we visit the Ridge to Reef Farm here in St. Croix.

We went to meet Nate and hear his story on how he started the Ridge To Reef Farm and what he has accomplished on this small island of St. Croix. Learning that over 90% of the food on St. Croix is imported, Nate is trying to relieve that with his farm and help of surrounding farms. We learned about how important a watershed is and how his is helping to provide local schools with fresh, organic produce.

We learned about Chaya and brought some of this lefty green that we have never had, back to the boat for dinner.

While at the farm we tasted a preview meal of the Slow Down dinner they were hosting this week and we extended our stay in St. Croix to attend the 6 course meal. It was such and experience. Made us appreciate what slowing down is all about.
