#177 In this episode we ask ourselves is our boat worth saving after finding a scary discovery during our haul out.
Two years ago we had an emergency haul out of our boat. This time we actually scheduled a haul out in order to paint the bottom of our boat, fix a couple of things and then get back in the water. But there was something we didn’t know that was waiting for us once we pulled Saoirse out of the water. We have our spot booked for 10 days and we have a lot of work to do. One of the items on our list to do was to find the leak in our boat that was causing water to gather in our centerboard wells. After sucking out the standing water from our bilge and the centerboard wells, the water came back. This wasn’t a good sign. Why was water coming back into while we were OUT of the water? This led to a VERY MESSY discovery that leaves us wondering if our boat is worth saving.
