This is the start of a new chapter, where we leave our solar powered life behind to ride out the winter with shore power and water hookups at the dock.

This was our first trip in a while, and even though we didn’t get much wind, it was amazing to be out on the water again.

The seasons are changing, and we are getting ready to sail the boat back to our winter home on the docks!

We wanted to explain why we’ve been distant from social media these last few weeks and give you an update on what’s been going on behind the camera.

Well we were hoping we wouldn’t have to make a video like this… but sometimes life happens and you just have to make the best of things.

Living off grid during the summer means that we need to bring all of our supplies with us to the boat, including our drinking water and anything else we need.

This week we continue to explore our off grid anchorage, take the dinghy into new coves, and swim off the boat in the cold ocean water.

Join us as we pack up the boat and move to a new off grid anchorage. We escaped our busy spot to find a remote location and saw lots of things along the way.

In this video, I share some of my week, including some work- and chore-days where I clean up some of our teak wood on the boat!

One of the things we show in this video is how we get water into the boat when anchored off grid. We are lucky to be able to fill up our water jugs on land.

We take a break from sailing this week and start to settle into our daily routine of living off grid on our sailboat.

We had an eventful trip between spotting porpoises on the horizon, to being pulled over for a police check, to having a malfunction with our gear...

After running around all day, we made sure to take the afternoon off to explore our anchorage before heading back to the boat for an incredible sunset.
