When the tide ebbs one side of Dungeness, the stream sets in one direction. When the tide floods on the other side of Dungeness, the stream sets in the same direction. No, I don’t understand it either. The effect of this is to give me a lovely 10 hours of fair tide which, with the wind on the quarter, gave me a lovely trip to Dover. Just watch out for the ferries.
