*Hey! We’re Ruth and Andrew* 👋🏼
After years of dreaming, we left our family, friends and lives in Edinburgh, Scotland, behind as we set off to chase our shared dream of sailing the world. Last year, we bought our Excess 11 catamaran, Rúna, which we now call home as we live, work, sail and adventure across the Mediterranean.
Our 18 month reset journey so far:

After sailing 260 nautical miles from Italy to Tunisia and back to reset our boat’s EU Temporary Admission clock, we’re finally back in Europe… but getting back into the EU isn’t as straightforward as we hoped!
What should have been a quick bit of paperwork turns into a frustrating game of being sent back and forth between the police, coast guard and port authorities. At times, it felt like even the Italian officials didn’t fully understand their own process!
After days of trying to get the paperwork sorted, we then head to the beautiful island of Favignana for some much-needed time at anchor. But our problems aren’t over yet…
An issue with one of our engines forces us into a marina, where we have to dock our catamaran using just one engine, something we’ve never done before!
Join us as we overcome boat problems.
