Fryd is testing a new tool to get the chain to end up in the right place!
Anyone who anchors a lot knows the frustration when the chain piles up in a huge heap right under the windlass. On SY Fryd, we’ve long been annoyed by having to manually push the chain away to keep it from jamming. But now, Thor-Eivind Wand has created a brilliant solution: "The Chain Helper". In this video, we show how this simple yet smart system with two wheels moves the drop point further into the anchor locker, allowing the chain to stack perfectly without help. We’ve been lucky enough to test this prototype, and we’re putting it to the test while sailing around the Canary Islands!

Alle som har ankeret mye kjenner til frustrasjonen når kjettingen hoper seg opp i en stor klase rett under vinsjen. På SY Fryd har vi lenge irritert oss over å måtte dytte unna kjettingen manuelt for at den ikke skal låse seg. Men nå har Thor-Erling Vikan laget en genial løsning: "Kjettinghjelperen". I denne videoen viser vi hvordan dette enkle, men smarte systemet med to hjul flytter droppunktet lenger inn i ankerbrønnen, slik at kjettingen legger seg perfekt uten hjelp. Vi har fått gleden av å teste ut prototypen, og skal nå sette den på prøve mens vi seiler rundt Kanariøyene!
