Project Mini-sode 1 | Sailboat Bimini DIY Solar Panel Frame
This is the project mini episode series to do a deeper dive into one of the projects we were working on in one of our main episodes.
In this episode we are tackling moving and re-designing our bimini solar panel frame that holds 2 giant solar panels. When we initially created this in 2022 (or 2021?) we were focusing more on projects and less on sailing and didn't consider how much the panels would hinder our boom and other lines. This came up during a rigging inspection and with our mast and boom down, this was the perfect time to redesign it. Overall, an inexpensive project with some angle irons and a few Gemini slide mounts (https://www.geminiproducts.net/slide-mount-and-hinged-slide/).
