After 3 Months in San Diego... We Are Finally Ready to Sail to Mexico 🇲🇽⛵️
In this episode, we finally wrap up most of the projects while staying on anchor in San Diego, before taking off for Mexico. What was supposed to be a quick stop turned into three months of intense boat projects, major engine delays, and learning a lot more than we planned to.
We finish prepping our boat for offshore cruising, attend a seminar for Mexico sailors, and pick up the rebuilt heat exchanger that held up our departure for weeks. From standing rigging replacements to teak deck restoration, washing machine installs to marine toilet repairs (yes, it was gross), this was a season of upgrades, setbacks, and serious DIY.
📍 In this episode:
Boat life anchoring near downtown
Attending a cruising seminar for Mexico
Removing the heat exchanger
Getting a delay to our Mexico cruising plans
Working on the last boat projects on our list (head maintenance, teak restoration, outboard lift reinforcement, and more)
🔧⚓️ New “Mini Project” videos coming soon with deeper dives into each refit task!
