After 6,000 Miles, We Finally Made It to the Caribbean | S6 E06

After just under 6,000 nautical miles and six weeks of near-constant time at sea, the anchor finally goes down in Store Bay, Tobago. Three long Atlantic passages are behind us, and for a little while, the Caribbean is ours to slow down in.

But arriving is never quite as simple as stepping ashore. Between clearing in at Scarborough, our first taste of doubles, and a dinghy lock that simply refuses to open, our first day in Tobago turns into a real family effort.

From there, we surf the reef at Mt Irvine Bay, go looking for a waterfall deep in the rainforest, and wake before dawn to witness J’ouvert, the street celebration that opens Carnival in Trinidad and Tobago. It’s a short stay, but one we’ll remember for a long time.

Have you ever been to Tobago, or tried doubles? We’d love to hear about it in the comments 👇
