Hello Friends,

This is a “Bonus Episode” to show you guys some excitement we had last sunday onboard The Black Lotus.

If you are a regular subscriber you will remember our video from a few weeks about where we brought this beautiful and in need of TLC 1965 Cheoy Lee Offshore 26 “Frisco Flyer” from Marina del Rey to Los Angeles Harbor : https://youtu.be/DXnH51ajDfQ

Well all of our schedules finally lined up so Dyer and Kristen (and their sweet dog Remy) they new owners and new sailors of the boat, Camille and myself took the Black Lotus out for a fun day of Sail Training behind the breakwater. The winds were only blowing about 4 to 6 knots but that was plenty of wind for us to get this little boat moving with a big 155 handed on.

Dyer and Kristen are new to sailing and eager to learn and they both did great as I gave them instructions from the bow and Camille stayed in the cockpit explain line handling as we tacked in the harbor and explored various points of sail.

Once we got back to the dock was when all the excitement started.

The head on the boat was stuck so I grabbed some olive oil from Triteia and took apart the handle and plunger and got it working. After I put it back together I went to take off the salt water in to see if we had water flow and as my knuckle touched the elbow on the waste out thru-hull we heard a strange sound and water started pouring in the boat.

The electrolysis corrosion was so bad the wall of the bronze elbow was as thin as tissue paper. I quickly plugged the hole and we started filming.
