Three no-paid sponsorship finds for the cruising sailor:

On this Christmas Eve, I decided to do a quick short on few items the I’ve discovered and really like. None of these are paid sponsorships, and the manufacturers/suppliers have no idea we’re reviewing these products.

The first is a men’s lithium battery powered barber/grooming kit from Philips/Norelco. This is the kit I always wanted but couldn’t find, and it works completely as advertised.

The second item is an outboard hydrofoil planing plate by Permatrim. I purchased this for our Suzuki DF-20A outboard, and they are also available in different styles for most other major brands. This plate has not only added a ton of speed to the dinghy, but also allows up to plane with more passengers. I’ve had myself (grizzly bear size), Wendy, plus two others aboard on full plane many times this season, which was a past impossibility.

Finally, we give props to Johnson Pumps / SPX Flow line of manual toilet tower assemblies. The tower assembly is the weak link in the ubiquitous Jabsco manual toilet design, and the SPX Flow version fixes nearly all of the deficiencies.

And that’s it. Merry Christmas and Happy New Years to all our subscribers and viewers!
