This first episode of our 2015 bareboating trip focuses on our travels from Colorado to St. Thomas, a day of sightseeing in Charlotte Amalie, picking up our Beneteau 37.2 monohull charter boat, and sailing to Norman Island. There’s a ton of snorkeling and a good bit of sailing, although more sailing yet to come. We hope you enjoy!
There’s a sub-genre of sailing related videos that we call “virtual sailing”. This is a popular way for land-locked sailors and those who don’t own boats to experience some of the excitement of true sailing. Some might find such footage boring, but be aware that there are countless others who are enthralled by it. We try to strike a balance, with equal parts travel/adventure, how-to, and virtual sailing.
We found some of our music (Chiba) on the wonderful SV Delos channel https://www.youtube.com/user/briantrautman/featured
The Delos guys and girls are doing it right in every way, from entering into a full circumnavigation to professional video editing to great practical tips on cruising and even an impromptu re-rigging project. Check them out if you can. Buy them a beer too …
