My birthday did not turn out as planned but we were happy to make it before the Meltemi wind arrived. Kythnos has a very protected anchorage with two bays separated by a narrow stretch of beach. It is a great place many sailors seek to hide from the prevailing winds.
We wanted to spend more time in Athens but only had the chance to visit the Acropolis, before a big storm hit. At night the wind picked up and our sailboat started to drag towards the shore so it was time to leave.
