We’ve sailed around one-third of the way around the world, through some of the most extraordinary places we could ever have imagined.
But recently we’ve started asking ourselves a slightly uncomfortable question…
Are we actually very good at slowing down?
Living on a boat should be the ultimate form of slow travel. Yet somehow there’s always another anchorage, another island, another country and another experience waiting around the corner.
In this episode, we sit down together and unpack how we actually travel aboard Sea Moon. Why do we create deadlines when we don’t necessarily need them? Why do we almost never stop somewhere just for lunch? Has our journey been too fast? How much do weather, seasons and other people influence our plans — and do we suffer from FOMO?
We also talk about when we do slow down, whether there’s such a thing as emotional FOMO, the compromises we’ve made along the way, and what we’ve learned after sailing this far.
Maybe slow cruising isn’t about how many miles you sail or how long you stay in an anchorage.
Maybe it’s about being present long enough to appreciate where you already are.
👇 We’d love to hear from you:
Do you ever feel like you’re rushing towards the next experience instead of enjoying the one you’re already having?
