We are replacing our old Yanmar engines with two brand new Nanni N4.50s. After a battle with customs in Tahiti, the new engines finally arrive on the dock and we are so excited to unbox them. We use a chain hoist on our boom to lift one engine onto our boat and luckily it fits through the hatch! The only downside is it doesn’t really fit on the engine beds but we’ll figure it out somehow!
Back story: After melting one of our engines on our Pacific crossing last year, we've been sailing around French Polynesia for 11 months without it. Now we're doing a double engine repower on our 20-year-old catamaran and we're doing all the work ourselves, while we're still in the water. Watch this space as we figure out what it takes to become marine mechanics on our very own floating home!

📖 Our Story 📖
We're Iain and Brioni [The Reds] a couple of redheaded Scots who sold everything we own and moved halfway round the world to buy a boat that we could call home. We have a habit of finding ourselves in the most unusual circumstances, but that’s what makes life interesting! We live in search of the most remote places to live and sail so hit subscribe and join us on this adventure!
