On this episode of Sailing on a Whim, we visit Marsh Harbour in the Abacos and witness the aftermath of Hurricane Dorian first-hand. Marsh Harbour was the hardest hit area during the hurricane and the damage that remained six months after the hurricane was unbelievably heartbreaking.
Update November 2021: The Abacos are open and welcoming of visitors. The islands have made incredibly recoveries after the hurricane despite numerous setbacks, including the COVID pandemic, and it is amazing place to visit. Although the devastation of the hurricane is still evident, many marinas, grocery stores, and restaurants are open.

This crazy adventure started in early 2018 as we started researching learning how to sail, buy a boat, outfit her, and take off for a life on the open seas. There has been a huge learning curve trying to make all of this happen and we want to share with you everything that we have learned and have some fun along the way.
The pandemic has thrown everyone a curveball and we are no exception. Now that life has settled down a bit for us, we are excited to be able to start sharing our adventures from this past year. We hope that you learn a little from our experiences and maybe inspire you to make changes to live the life you want!
