E62 - A Secret Cave and a Stuck Tender, Mitchell River Falls (Part 2 of 2)
This episode we explore the waterfalls above the rock bar of the Mitchell River.
After climbing over huge rocks and boulders we arrive at the first set of multilevel waterfalls for a refreshing swim and cool off under the falls. After climbing down and exploring the lower level, Pete finds a secret entrance behind the waterfall which leads to an incredible cave system.
Returning the following day, we explore further up the river to the second and third waterfalls where we swim in what can only be described as a waterfall playground with infinity pools, vortexes and water slides.
Returning in the afternoon we find that our tender has not behaved as expected and has got stuck on a rock ledge 3 metres (10 feet) off the water. Having to wait until later that night we head back up the river in complete darkness with crocodiles all around, on a rescue mission to bring her back.

WHO ARE WE?
We’re Chris and Jo and we have been living on our Seawind 1260 since January 2019. In our first year we bring our yacht down the east coast of Australia and sail it out to New Caledonia. After cruising further north up the east coast of Australia in 2020, we decide to circumnavigate Australia during 2021 and 2022.
We had previously owned fishing and water skiing boats, but after a couple years crewing in South Australia we decided to jump right in and make a sea change.
We are just an ordinary Aussies couple exploring what this great world has to offer and hope that we can inspire others just as we were by watching other YouTube channels to follow our dreams.
