E232 - Goidhoo Atoll, A Hidden Gem of the Maldives
We leave Malé and sail to one of the Maldives' hidden gems—Goidhoo Atoll. From above, the drone captures just a glimpse of this breathtaking paradise, revealing crystal-clear waters, pristine reefs, and spectacular snake-shaped sandbars.
Keen to experience everything the atoll has to offer, we join a local guide who takes us on an unforgettable adventure. We swim with gentle nurse sharks, hand-feed friendly batfish, drift dive the outer reef walls in exhilarating currents, and explore Goidhoo Island, where fresh water lies just beneath the sandy surface, allowing locals to grow much of the fruit and vegetables supplied throughout the Maldives.
We finish the day at the stunning Rose Coral Gardens, where vibrant coral formations and colourful tropical fish create the perfect ending to an incredible day exploring one of the Maldives' best-kept secrets. 🏝️🦈🐠

WHO ARE WE?
Hey there! We’re Chris and Jo, an ordinary Aussie couple living our extraordinary dream aboard our Seawind 1260 since January 2019 and now we continue from 2024 aboard our new 1370!
Our adventure began with an unforgettable journey down the east coast of Australia, followed by a sail to the stunning New Caledonia. In 2020, we continued our exploration further north, and by 2021 and 2022, we circumnavigated Australia, discovering breathtaking locations along the way.
Having previously owned fishing and water-skiing boats, our passion for sailing deepened after crewing in South Australia, leading us to make the leap into full-time living at sea.
