Lots of bird action this time. Plenty of wind and we did some incredible leaning. Our DIY project was building a handrail on our dock steps for convenient in and out boarding.
Ultimately, we hit 7.5 knots with gust up to 22 knots, maybe faster. Steve had to wrestle the wheel through the wind. We had all 800 square feet of our sails out. When the wind hit 20-22 knots we were having a great time hanging onto the wheel. It was a wild ride. Should have secured things down below just a little bit better. Nothing totally damaged, coffee maker is slightly out of alignment…still works 😉.
Winter sailing is for the birds LOL.
